Sister with a scull

This portrait explores the delicate balance between life, memory, and mortality. Holding a skull—a timeless memento mori—my sister becomes both a personal subject and a universal symbol of the human condition.

Through a restrained palette and quiet composition, the painting invites reflection on the passage of time, the strength of family bonds, and the beauty found in our shared fragility. More than a likeness, it is a meditation on presence and what we choose to carry through life.

Life size portrait of my sister.
