Bathing in a bog and stepping down into an uprooted tree

We are now approaching September. Summer has been lived in both light and chosen shade.

Every morning and evening, mist settles over the meadows. When the sun touches the ground, everything seems to smell of life. My dogs are happy, and so am I. There is a sense of unbound freedom in living so closely with nature — having the time and space to observe, to listen, and to capture something of what it means to be human.

This autumn, I will be sharing a studio at Sockerbruket, a historic industrial setting by the river in central Gothenburg. It will be a new kind of environment for me, shifting between the open landscape of Orust and the urban landscape of the city.

I will continue to paint landscapes and the encounter between landscape and the human body, allowing these two worlds to meet and develop further in the studio.

I am curious to see what will emerge.

See you there

Sofia
